Why remove the SIM card PIN code?
When using the Olga phone for the first time, we recommend permanently removing the SIM card PIN code.
The PIN code is not suitable for people who are visually impaired, blind, or who have difficulty using a phone keypad. If the device restarts, it may prevent the user from easily accessing the Olga system.
Once the PIN code has been removed, the phone will start directly on the Olga interface after a restart.
How to remove the SIM card PIN code?
From the Olga phone, go to:
Menu — long press on the 3 blue dots — then Settings > Other.
Depending on the phone model, the setting may then be located in one of the following menus:
- Security > More security settings > Encryption and credentials > SIM card lock > Lock SIM card
- Security & privacy > More settings > Security > Advanced settings, if present > SIM lock > Lock SIM card
- Security & privacy > More security & privacy > SIM lock > Lock SIM card
Disable the corresponding switch. The phone will then ask you to enter the current SIM card PIN code to confirm deactivation.
Important
The PIN code must be known in order to remove it. If you do not know the SIM card PIN code, contact the mobile operator or the person who provided the SIM card. Once this operation has been completed, the PIN code will no longer be requested when the phone starts.
Screen lock
If the SIM card PIN request has been successfully removed, but a PIN code is still requested, it is probably a code added for the screen lock.
Olga phones are configured without a screen lock code. If a screen lock PIN appears, this means it was added after the initial configuration of the device.
To remove it, go to:
Menu — long press on the 3 blue dots — then Settings > Other.
Depending on the phone model, then go to Security or Security & privacy, then Screen lock.
If the option shows PIN, press Screen lock, confirm the current PIN code, then select None.
PUK code
A PUK code may be requested after three incorrect attempts to enter the SIM card PIN code. If you do not know your PUK code, contact your mobile operator. They will be able to help you unlock the SIM card.
