Ring duration

When an incoming call is received on the Olga device, the phone rings twice, then announces the caller’s name when the caller is recognized.

This announcement is then repeated in a loop for the duration of the incoming call.

Olga does not directly control the total ring duration or the moment when voicemail is triggered.

This part is managed by the mobile operator.

Increasing the ring duration

If you want to increase the number of rings before voicemail is triggered, this change usually has to be made through your mobile operator.

You can search on Google: "Increase ring duration + name of your mobile operator"

The steps to increase the ring duration often require entering a code using the phone keypad.

To allow a helper to access the keypad with Olga, simply say Keypad after the question How can I help you?

Different incoming call scenarios

On the Olga device, when an incoming call is received, several scenarios are possible.

- If the number is saved in the contacts, the phone rings twice, then announces the caller’s name. This announcement is repeated in a loop during the incoming call.

- If the incoming number is unknown or hidden, the phone rings twice, then announces unknown call. This announcement is also repeated in a loop during the incoming call.

- If the incoming number is not saved in the contacts and is not hidden, the phone rings without making a voice announcement.

When Olga announces the caller’s name or says unknown call, the time used for the voice announcements reduces the time available for standard ringing. As a result, there may be fewer audible rings before voicemail is triggered.

Automatic answering

For people with motor disabilities, it is possible to enable an automatic answering function that allows the device to answer calls automatically. More details about automatic answering are available here: configure automatic answering.
